KTM 390 Duke

The centerpiece of the Gen-3 390 Duke is the enlarged 398.7cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve DOHC single-cylinder engine that churns out 46 PS at 8,500 rpm and 39 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Featuring a newly optimized cylinder head and larger air intake, the LC4c motor resolves the peaky nature of earlier editions by delivering muscular, accessible torque from 4,000 rpm upwards. Paired with an assist and slipper clutch and a lightning-fast bi-directional Quickshifter+, 0 to 100 km/h is demolished in approximately 5.4 seconds, accompanied by a throatier exhaust bark.

Chassis dynamics are transformative. Up front, 43mm WP APEX inverted forks offer 5-step adjustable compression and rebound damping, allowing riders to switch effortlessly between plush city absorption and rock-solid track stiffness. Out back, the off-set WP APEX monoshock features 5-step rebound damping and preload adjustment. Braking hardware comprises a massive 320mm front rotor with a 4-piston radial caliper, delivering relentless stopping power with razor-sharp feedback under hard trail-braking.

The technology suite belongs to the superbike category. A 5-inch bonded glass color TFT display provides access to three ride modes (Street, Rain, Track), segment-first Launch Control, and lean-angle sensitive Cornering MTC. An upgraded 15-litre steel fuel tank yields a realistic range of 380 to 410 km at an average real-world fuel economy of 26 to 29 km/l. The standard seat height sits at an accessible 800mm (with an optional 820mm spacer), accompanied by an impressive 183mm of ground clearance to glide over Indian speed bumps.
