Propelling the RC 200 is KTM's proven 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine that develops 25 PS at 10,000 rpm and 19.2 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. Matched with an ultra-short-ratio 6-speed transmission, power builds rapidly past 6,000 rpm with an energetic top-end rush accompanied by a crisp mechanical intake howl. The curved radiator with dual flow-through fairing channels draws high volumes of air across the engine block, mitigating the severe heat build-up that characterized earlier RC generations in crowded Indian city streets.

Chassis engineering centers on a lightweight tubular steel trellis frame featuring a bolt-on rear subframe, paired with 43mm WP APEX upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. High-speed stability is exemplary: the aerodynamically optimized front bubble screen channels turbulent wind cleanly over the rider's helmet when tucked in. Braking performance is anchored by a generous 320mm front disc with a radially mounted four-piston caliper, providing immense initial bite and feel at the lever.

Everyday usability is substantially improved by a redesigned 13.7-litre steel fuel tank that replaces the restrictive 9.5-litre unit of the original generation, comfortably extending operating range beyond 380 km at an average fuel economy of 31 to 34 km/l. The digital LCD cluster offers comprehensive telemetry including shift-light warnings, instantaneous mileage, and trip metrics. While the seating posture remains sporty and aggressive, clip-on risers and improved seat padding make medium-distance road riding genuinely accessible.
